Dear Mom, on Mother’s Day

Dear Mom,

You are a treasure. I hope you know that! I know we don’t tell you that nearly enough! Words fall short to fully describe you, but here are a few things I have always admired about you…

You truly love the Lord and taught me, by example, how to worship, pray, study and understand the Bible for myself, and serve.

You truly see and love others like Jesus.

You have the biggest servant’s heart of anyone I know.

You are the most thoughtful person I know.

You are, by far, the most patient and gentle person I know, “slow to anger and abounding in love.”

You follow your conviction to do the right thing when it needs to be done, even when it’s hard.

You have the gift of true hospitality and have used it so many times over the years to love and honor your family and so many others.

You are very talented in many ways – an artist, a writer, an encourager, an organizer, a teacher – not by occupation but for the Lord.

You are funny and lighthearted and have a special way of brightening up a room and making others smile, laugh, and feel comfortable.

You have always supported me 110% in whatever I decided to do, and that means more than you will ever know.

You are faithful. You’re one of a very few people I can ask to pray and know without a shadow of a doubt it will be done.

You are the BEST Granna, and my girls and Eli think you hung the moon!

I am sure this will probably make you uncomfortable, because you are also the most humble person I know.  You tend to quietly work hard behind the scenes and don’t bring any attention to yourself. But I want this description of you to be something our family can look back on for years to come. 🙂

I love you!! And I feel so thankful for the gift of your friendship as an adult!!!  I can’t wait for our special mother-daughter weekend trip this summer!

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Love,

April
